Tar Heels Earn Right to Go To San Antonio

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:32 pm

A stellar performance Saturday earned the UNC Tar Heels a place in the Final Four.  The Tar Heels beat Louisville 83-73 in front of a home state crowd in Charlotte.  This is the first trip back to the Final Four since winning the championship in 2005.  If you’re getting ready to move to the Triangle, you’ll quickly learn that college basketball rules here!

Raleigh Talks of Easing Water Restrictions

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:43 pm

The City Council voted unanimously this week to repeal Raleigh’s strictest level of water restrictions when Falls Lake reaches 90%.  Falls Lake supplies water to Raleigh as well as 6 other Wake County towns.  Recent rains have raised the Falls Lake water level to 74%.  If normal amounts of rain continue to fall as they have through February and March, lake level could be at 90% in a matter of weeks.  Hopefully we’ve all learned through this experience what a precious resource our water is and will continue to conserve even if water restrictions are eased - Tina

Raleigh Ban on Garbage Disposals

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:33 pm

I have had several calls/emails from clients this week and last asking about the new ban on garbage disposals.  It’s true, on March 4th, the Raleigh City Council voted to ban garbage disposals from being connected to the municipal sewer system.   The new ordinance takes effect on March 17th and effects homes in Raleigh, Garner, Knightdale, Zebulon, Wendell, Rolesville, and Wake Forest.  The reason for the ban is environmental in nature, with the Council citing the detrimental effects of having food and grease in the sewer lines.  Businesses and homes with existing disposals are allowed to continue to use them, but cannot replace them once the ones they have stop working.  Let me know if you have questions - Tina

Retirement Communities in Cary

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 5:24 pm

I would look at Carolina Preserve/Amberly in Cary for an active 55+ community with detached houses and fabulous amenities.  The neighborhood is by Del Webb which is Pulte’s Active Adult Division.
