Connecticut is a state in the New England region of the United States, located in the northeastern part of the country. In terms of per capita income, it is the wealthiest state in the country, while it ranks 4th for median household income. Connecticut is also one of the most densely populated states in nation and has strong economic connections to New York, with several of its counties being part of the larger New York City metropolitan area. Connecticut was one of the Thirteen Colonies that revolted against British rule in the American Revolution. Residents of Connecticut are referred to as Connecticutians and Nutmeggers.
